How to water, do I use a spray or just water the soil?

Gday guys
I was told that I should spray the whole plant when I'm watering it, so the leaves get water etc.

But I'm worried about the buds rotting. How do you guys water?
Should I use the sprayer when I'm feeding them and when I'm watering just pour it onto the soil?

Thanks

I water the whole plant. When it rains outside the whole plant gets wet so I can see no reason not to water the entire plant.

If mold is a problem then you might be watering too often.

Hey dude im only in high school but i kno 1 thing that i have learnt its just water the soil and give the plant a squirt on a warm morning. under lights you can do whatever as the lights will evaporate the water and not leave it on the plant to cause rot and mold. if this does happen just try using a little ''white oil'' on the effected areas asap this may dry the mould. (no gaurantees) its available from any good hardware store or garden centre.

I have a question about watering.. I have nice light and fluffy organic soil and every time I water the soil starts bubbling and it's like my plants are going to float away. I'm watering out of half gallon and gallon jugs. Maybe I just need to water slowly. But it seems like I need to put a layer of heavy soil or rocks down.

don't bother spraying the leaves, just water the base, unless you have gotten some very good "folliar fertalizer". "folliar spraying" or spraying the leaves can be usefull, in times of dire need when the entire plant is drooping from drought, it will perk it up just a little faster, the same goes for nutrients, but it is very easy to burn a plant like that. it's a little like a human getting an enima to get over your hangover (yes people do it) because your colon absourbs water much quicker than your stomoch i guess, but you wouldn't wanna say screw your mouth and only walk around with a tube up your butt, it's just not normal, lol and even though this metaphore was pretty gross, i like to think i made my point, folliar feeding is tough to get right and isn't necassary for most people, i would stay away from it if i were you.

virgin harvester_ i know what you mean, i have had that problem as well, you could either use something to break up the waters surface tention, i know a drop of hand soap will do it, though not sure if safe, i would look it up with google, but i know they sell stuff you can add to water to make it just pour right in the soil without disturbing anything... or you could use a spray bottle to pre moistion the soil, or just pour a small amount onto each plant, wait like 5 min for the soil to moisten, and then water as normal/
