how to use rep function?

If I start a thread like "The I hate twinkies thread" and peeps defend twinkies and i give peeps neg rep for every1 who defends twinkies and positive to those who share my beliefs will that be an abuse of the rep system? Hi all being doin the pot forum thing for many years. been growin for many years. been smoking many years.....i am antagonistic by nature and an asshole. jus the way i was born. USUALLY however i dont let these traits come thru on the internet. neways dont wanna abuse the rep system.....at the other site i wsas told it dont mean nothin but as soon as i handed out neg 10 times for peeps calling me a rascist an ignoramous a kook a troller (lmao) i was banned with aggro authoritiy. lmao yet still pissed at the hypocrtical state of website........

When someone says something you find helpful or informative, a +rep is like a "thank you". It is simply a nice way of spreading that someone helped you with something, or that it is simply good information.

-rep is reserved for premium members, it is generally saved for offensive posts and such.

i dont even think anyone can give - rep because elite members is down (still, isnt it?)
