how to use ph meter?

greetings people

I recently bought a ph meter but whenever i seem to use it , it always reads 7 as the ph

I just stick it in dirt

Am i doing this wrong ..?

Your PH is probably 7, perfect. The soil has to be moist for it to read.

i would test it outside i have a similar one i have to let it set in the dirt for at least a min
