How to Test your NPK Ratios

Hi Guys & Girls,

I was wondering if there is any reliable way to test the actual N-P-K ratio either of your soil or of the Organic Tea which you have produced?

I understand that you can send the soil samples away for analysis at a lab and they will send you the results, but can you get home testers or is there a way to get an idea of N-P-K at home without the guess-work of having to give it to the plants and see the results?

I also understand that you can use EC testers, but i was under the impression this wont give you the actual ratio of each nutrient in your soil? Please correct me if i am wrong.

At the minute when creating Organic nutrients for my garden there seems to be a lot of guess work involved in terms of how much of the substance to use / how much nutrients to put into my bucket - have the guys on the forum who have posted these recipes just had to suffer through trial and error?

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated,

Many Thanks :peace:

I'm wondering the same exact thing. I've been playing with bag seed grown with organic teas and things have been going much better than planned. I'm pretty sure the good microbes give you a little leeway! I just started with 1/4 strength high N guano, 1/8 strength seabird guano, bunch of worm poo, pinch of micros, etc. I like to switch up the ingredients like kelp, alfalfa, fish emulsion, bone and blood meal. Higher N for veg and P for bloom. It's kind of like cooking a varied diet and they'll love you for it.
