How to start seedlings

I've almost got all of the materials for my DWC system and am ready to start building. I have 5" netpots hydroton clay pellots and dynogrow bloom and grow on the way shortly. My question is how do I go about starting the seeds from infancy. I am aware of different germination methods that's not what I'm concerned about. I'm talking about what do put my germinated seed in to grow a little before I would transplant into the hydroton pellots. I guess I'm a little confused when it comes to that

rapid rooters or rockwool

So I use a small rockwool cube and place it in the top center of the pot around the hydroton pellots and let the roots outgrow the cube or does the cube fall apart from the root growth or how does that work
