How to Start a Temple

Temple Planting is the same as Church Planting. It is basically just the idea of a new branch opening in a new community. This can start with a Cyberchurch or a Cafe Temple, or any small group. The goal is just to eventually get the word out about the Temple so that enough people want to actually build a Temple in the area. This can be done by passing out Literature or Flyers in crowded places, if you have a Cyberchurch or a Cafe Temple you could include specific meeting times, or a website.

A Cyberchurch is kind of like what I am starting. Once the book B.I.B.L.E. is written I will start passing out paper copies and then eventually start a small Temple, which will eventually become a bigger Temple and we will work together with other Temples to make an offline network. But I will start of by using Forums, Youtube, Blogs, etc. To reach people and to get other people reaching each other.

Usually Cyberchurches are Christian, for example the people on Google+ have probably heard of Online Preachers or Mormon Websites, those are Cyber churches.. But there are are also a lot of other Cyberchurches doing ministries online and getting people together online. Another example is "Hash Church" on Youtube.

Even Facebook or Google groups could be considered a form of Cyberchurch.

A Cyber Museum is a Website or Blog that works similar to a Museum, some are similar to the old "Cabinet of Curiosities" that used to be on the streets of Europe.

A Cyber Museum is a way that people can learn new things and discover things about the world they did not know, and maybe find things on their planet that they did not know they were interested in. Some people use them to promote ideas about Aliens.

A Cyber Museum may also offer archives of Games, Websites, Softwares, or Code.

A Cyber Museum in association with a Polytheistic Temple would have the goal of educating people about the religions of the world, as well as offering Sacred Texts for people to read, possibly a catalog of plants and other things like that. As well as maybe a forum where people could talk about things and maybe help curate the Museum while learning about different practices, plants and reading texts from around the world.

Special Libraries are basically Archives for certain themes. In a traditional Library they would attempt to get as many books as they could on as many topics as possible, and then rent those out to the Public. A Special Library is more of a Reference Library, where the books would probably not be taken from the Library, but they could be scanned and shared.

A Special Library could be a Library of Sacred Texts, or a Library of 1st Person stories, or a Library of Law, or a Library of News, or a Library of Medicine, or a Library that contained the History of a certain place etc.

A Special Library could exist online, an example of this is the website http://www.sacred-texts.com/

Once it is possible every temple should get a printer. Even if it is a desktop printer they have gotten pretty advanced now and you can print out pretty much anything. You can also get scanners and Copy machines. These types of things will allow the temple to print flyers, pamphlets, literature and publish their own work as well as the work of anyone who comes to them asking to be Published.

Printers can be used to make Business cards, Flyers, Mailers, Booklets, Books, Stickers, Labels, Magazines, Personalized Stationary etc.

You can also use services like Vista Print or Kinkos to get these things done on a large scale and PDF converters (Software) can allow you to turn files on a computer in to files that can be sold on Amazon or given away freely.

A House Temple is when a private residence is being used as a Temple. This could either designate a place for personal worship or for others to gather.

A House Temple could start as a meeting group, or as a study group for either the Rig Veda or the Bible or other religious texts. Or it could start as a form of small club. For example, it could start as a buying club for a group of personal worshipers who want to buy incense together, or who want to start breeding plants together, create music together, or anything like that.

A House Temple could also start as a Homeless shelter, or as a place for people to stay when they are traveling.

A Sacred Herb Acclimatisation Society is a group that is established in order to bring sacred Herbs into a region. An example of this would be if a Polytheistic Temple wanted to practice Olmec tradition, you may be growing San Pedro Cactus. Once your San Pedro catcus has large branches you could make San Pedro cuttings and offer them to local businesses or nearby Temples, or in places where it seems like that would be ok.

You could also spread Acacia tress, which is the Egyptian Tree of Life. Or Marijuana, which is representative of Shiva on Earth. You could also plant things like Mucuna or Chacruna which have been used in Ayahuasca, and the Ayahuasca vine itself is another plant. Or you could spread White Sage, which is used in Native American ceremonies.

The basic goal of a Sacred Herb Acclimatisation Society is just to bring sacred herbs into an area.

Here is a website where you can get seeds for tons of Sacred Herbs.

A Benefit Society is a group that is established in order to make sure certain problems always have solutions. Many Fraternities, Mutual Banking institutions, Soup Kitchens and Homeless Shelters started as Benefit Societies. Benefit Societies can also be used to help people fund new Temples in the area. Many Christian Churches do the old tradition of offering Coffee and Doughnuts in the front which is basically Benefit Society work.

Cafe churches and temples are churches and temples that focus on community and outreach instead of preaching. Usually there is a Cafe in the church or temple and can even be the central theme of the temple, sometimes they exist in Coffee Shops and other small businesses. Usually Cafe temples are associated with "Church Planting" which is what Churches or Temples do in their early stages

With the results of the Hobby Lobby Trial, a Cafe Church or Temple could legally practice any religion on their property and not have to worry about legal interference.

Sometimes Music is also a central theme for a Cafe Church.

A Cell Group is a group of friends or family or friends and family that meet in random local places (like a Cafe Church or Cyberchurch) or at each others houses. It could start as a random meeting, or as a school club, or as a study group or Bible/Rig Veda etc Study or something like that and would not necessarily try to get new members, but there is no reason not to.

A Cell Temple is like a cell Church, it is a place where Cell groups can come together to meet or keep things, and the Cell Temple may also try to guide the Cell groups in their studies by offering texts and materials. The Cell Temple can also offer fliers and Literature for anyone who wants to advocate, and coordinate things like Meet ups, Holiday Celebrations or Retreats.

Central Conferences are a way for a Decentralized Polytheistic system to be able to come together and make decisions. It is not actually Centralized in that all branches are coming together, but Central Conferences should be able to bring together local Temples, so as to bring people together to solve struggles inside and outside of the Temples.

A Chaplain is a Minister, Priest, Rabbi, Imam, Baba, etc. that has been stationed at a secular institution. For example, you have probably seen a Minister at a hospital or at least in a hospital TV show. There are also Ministers that work for the Military. They do not have any administrative power usually, but are just part of the organization for Moral support of people who are there permanently or visiting. Chaplains can be found in: Hospitals, the Military, Police Stations or Fire Departments, Musical Institutions, College Campuses, Prisons, Sports Teams, Private Clubs and Private Businesses

A Chapel is a Temple like structure that is attached to another building. It could be attached to a House, Hospital, Funeral Home, Prison, College, Private Business etc.

A Chapel offers a place similar to a Temple or Church where people can come to congregate, but it is usually less of a public building than a regular Church or Temple and more of an attachment to another building where people that work at or are visiting that building can go to congregate.

A Chapel can even just be an outdoor place for congregation

A Local Temple is a registered non-Profit Church. It may have a Constitution or By-Laws and it may be denominational. A Local church would be the place where people were Registered to be Ministers, and where Education or Congregation would happen.

A Denomination is a tradition that is passed down, for example, if you started a Temple of the Polytheistic Temple branch off of the Universal Life Church and chose to be a Temple of Shiva, you would be a Hindu Denominational Temple, and your Denomination would be Shaivism. Then if you Registered new Ministers, they would be the same Denomination.

If you started a Temple and said that anyone was allowed to come, and it doesn't matter if they worship Shiva, or Yaweh, or Allah, they can come in to the Temple, that is Non-Denominational. If you were to Register new Minsters, they would be Non-Denominational.

A Temple Union is when 2 or more Temples come together to form a larger body.

A Federation is a Union in which the 2 former churches are not expected to dissolve.
