I have read and read but I can not find an explanation on what it means to induce flowering or to begin the flowering period. Does it just mean changing the lighting and the nutrients? Or, do you have to do something to the plant? I am still in the research phase and haven't started anything yet.
Thanks!

Look at indoor growing as if you have to duplicate Mother Nature. During the Spring and Summer, the sun is out about 18 hours a day. During the Fall, the sun is out about 12 hours a day. Flowering is induced when the sun shines 12 hours per day. So ... for vegging indoor plants, you'll need to have your lights on 18 hours and off for 6. For flowering, your lights have to be on for 12 hours and off for 12. Its as simple as that.

it is essential to use different foods during the veg n flowering. High nitrogen for veg phosphorous for flowering. The best stuff to get is earth juice now branded as earth juice sugar peak. Keep the plants in veg for 6 weeks they will have developed very strong roots and will be ready to flower, cannot stress how important it is to keep the dark periods dark any light will destroy the hormone the creates the good stuff delaying your babys.
