How to grow organic? Unclear

I'm looking for the smoothest, purest smoke for my grow. I know growing organically would be best, but I'm still unclear on exactly what that means.

I see posts on making an organic soil mix and letting it sit for months. Only problem is I don't have time for that.

My main question is : what makes a grow "organic"?
Is it simply not using chemical nutrients? Would the basic soil found at the local nursery be considered chemical?

get a soil that has only natural shit in it. no ferts. then use organic ferts like bat guano. or use liquid ferts. like earth juice. and thats it pretty much

Like Jthoth said. Start your soil simple. Use organic compost, peat moss, worm castings, peralite, coco fiber. All these mixed makes great soil.

Add some Dolomite lime to keep the PH in balance.

Add some blood meal, bone meal, nitrogen rich guano.

When you transplant add a high phosphorus guano.

Heres my rule of thumb for organic. If you don't know what it is, and where it came from don't feed it to your plant, becuase its going to end up in your lungs.

Get the purest forms of nutes. create a soil that is alive with microbs so that they can break down the nutes and feed them to your plants.

Add humic acid during waters and for seedings its great.

An organicly fed soil will make your plants stronger, they will resist pests better. Your weed will be WAY better.

ALSO, you can reuse your soil next time.

Everything i mentioned you can buy at either a grow store or local nursery.

OH and POST all questions :)

Zwh02... Organic just means natural (processed chemical free). A easy to make soil mix is 50 percent (composted cow manure), 30 percent spaghum peat moss, 10 percent Perlite (helps with water/air retention) and 10 percent worm castings. Most decent garden centers / nurseries have them. Big hardware stores like Lowes, Home Depot & even Wal-mart carry these.
.
If you just want to pour it out of the bag and go - ProMix, Happy Frog, Black Gold or Ocean Forrest by Foxfarm (cut this last one with 30 percent spahgum peat moss or coco fiber). The Ocean Forrest is a bit hot (nutrient rich NPK wise) for growing Mary if used straight out of the bag.
.
For fertilizers use all natural stuff like rabbit manure, composted chicken manure, bat guanos...etc...(see Making Tea is EZ & Cheap thread). Or use a good quality pour out of the bottle fert like Earth Juice, Metanatural, Botanicare Pure Blend Pro (online hydro stores) or BMO (Ebay).
.
Organic Growing is much better for your plants and you - since later, you are what you smoke.
.
Soil is the best medium to grow in, IMO, because it buffers changes in pH, moisture, temp and nutrient levels better than other grow mediums.
.
Hope this helps...
Keep it Real...Organic.....
