How to cure properly

I have dried and trimmed all my bud, but i need a good way of curing it. i have jars, but dont exactly know how to go through with it all.
any methods? thanks!

Put it in glass mason jars, seal them tight, burp them every day for 4 weeks.

Also, keep them in the jars after that since they will continue to cure and get better and better.

Burping the jars is crucial. I don't feel curing is an exact science, everyone has their own technique, but I burp several times a day for the first week. What happens is that the remaining moisture deep in the buds evaporates out into the mini climate that is a sealed jar. You need to release that moisture and repeat the process. If you see it is overly damp after the first 12-24 hours in the jar, you might want to leave the lid off overnight or even pour the buds back out onto a cookie sheet overnight. I like my buds a bit more moist than I think a lot of people do and it is also much easier to let excess moisture out than put moisture back in, so I tend to jar my buds a bit sooner than most. If you do that, however, you really need to be on top of things as it will mold very quickly if it is left in the jars too moist.

But basically, once you think they are ready, jar it up. In the morning (if you do this in the evening) open the jar up and dump the contents out. If it feels excessively damp, you may have jumped the gun. There is actually an entire section dedicated to harvesting and curing with lots of great articles on the subject.

buy a hygrometer from a cigar shop...and put inside of the mason jar to measure the % of RH...you want around 55 to 65% RH ...over 65% coud be risking mold, under 55% could impair the aging process

I agree with using a hygrometer ( 55 to 65% RH ), that's what I do and have good success.

I put my raw bud on a 16 x 20 inch furnace filter to dry for the first 48 hours. That removes 90% of the moisture. Then they go into sealable glass jars for 24 hours. The sealed jars make sure that the remaining moisture is evenly distributed. Without curing, using the jars, small nugs will be crispy and large ones damp. If you keep product more than a month it is imperative to cure or face the prospect of tossing out moldy bud. I've had to toss out a 1/4 lb. because of moldy bud. Never again! Works 4 me, BigSteve.

I know your question has already been answered but I just wanted to add that its VERY important that after you seal your bud up in jars to check on the OFTEN, at first. Better to be waaaaay on the side of "safe". Take it very seriously, I saw a buddy crop out his 1st outdoor grow 2 years ago and what could have been gold, was not because he fucked up the drying/curing steps.

I use a method similar to the perfect cure technique, I hang my buds to dry for 2 days, then I put them in jars for 24 hours, then I empty the buds back out and dry them for 12-24 hours on a flat rack, then I jar them back up burping once a day for a week. After that I just leave the jars sealed, works for me.

I use the hygrometer, but I also put the Boveda 62% humidipaks in the jars. I don't need to do all the burping or worry about mold. Works like a charm.
