They get paid for the flag waving military flybys. As a young black actor said it is to recruit American kids to sign up and go overseas to kill people in (fake) wars.

Oh and the black and white players can get concussions that cause brain damage. A concussion is a brain injury. Aaron Hernandez and Junior Seau killed themselves most likely due to brain injuries. many players are essentially crippled when they retire.
Years ago, Dolphins running back was hounded for pot smoking but he said it was the only thing that helped his pain. The Dolphins sucked back thena nd Williams said the team practically gave him the ball on every play .
Finally, there are loads of predatory agents and their financial advisors who essentially fleece players. I saw it happen to 5 players in the local area and they lost pretty much everything. Big names too.
