Hi there i have currently plants that are about 2ft+ and was wondering if they are in three gallon bags how much taller should i grow them? also depending on height how much would you expect?

Newbie question but am curious what people think. I know it doesn't really matter just wondering what people think. Also I am using 400 watt hps right now. You can also check my grow out and respond

you should bend it and tye it down now and switch to 12\12... 400w hps only penetrates so deep and it could shoot up to 4-5 feet and than the whole bottom 2 thirds of the plant is useless.. i am gonna go chk out your grow

all the side shoots will turn and grow up into nice colas and increase your yeild

yea i looked at the most recent pic you had up ther and i would tie a string around the main top and pull it down so it is even with the lower growth and tie it off... all the tops will be at the same hight and grow bigger than they would a foot and a half away from the light

If you are still vegging and the hieght is 2+ ft then you should definately put in bigger pots. 5 gallon buckets perhaps. If it is in flower than it all depends on how far along it is in flowering.

So what your saying is take the top part of the plant and tie it down to the bottem part? I am a little confused do you have any pics or yourself doing this?

alright then i won't tie down i will just start them into flowering because a 4 ft plant would be amazing! also 4 how much should that more then likely give me by chance?

Nevermind i was really stoned before they are not 2ft just yet ones close and the other is about a ft and almost a half, so i will give them another week to veg

i have one here thats all tied down but you cant see much here... i have another one that is in flower that would be better to see for your perticular situation but its in the dark for a few more hourrs when lights come on i will try and get a shot but basically you would only bend it down so it is even with the lower growth that way you will get more quality yeild wher it you let it go the main top will end up way higher than the rest of the tops so they wont get as big as they could and could end up fluffy.... usually i just pop a screw into the side of the pot and tie it to thatthan all the tops are even distance from the light so it will give you a better yeild

Tussel gave you good advice & you should listen to what he reccomended.

A 4ft tall plant under a 400 watt light would not be amazing,it would be poorly light & the lower portions of the plant will end up with little wispy/fluffy,tiny air buds with no weight to them.

i will post up a pic in 2 hr. that will show you better what i mean its an old mother and a lil funny lookin but you can see where i tied it down and how everything is even and how all the nodes started shooting up nice bbuds.... i should have tied it down sonner so the nodes could grow up a bit but you can clearly see what i did and how it works. i'll hook ya up and yyou should be fine if you tie it down and switch 12\12 the streatch should give you plenty of bud space and increase your yeild dramaticlly

and if you have more than one plant and they end up at diffrnt hights dont hesitate to put one on somthing to raise it up to the same level as the other plants

Yeah i realize that the lower part wont do much, but i just measured my plants and their only 1 1/2ft and 1 1/3 ft tall so i am going to veg for another week before i make any executive decisions.

Also i changed my grow room around so you can see how much room i have. The little ones are Ak-47 and white widow and im in the process of putting them all into 4 gallon bags!

hey check this out.. i took the string i had tiying it down off because its getting toward the end of flowering and isnt reakky needed anymore but wouldnt make much differance if i left it on....

so... if you look you can see how i bent it down and than it turned back up on its own to grow even with the other tops

you can see how the nodes have nice little nuggets on the horizantal stem which yours would most likely grow up to be as big as all the others this is what i ment by i didnt let them grow up enuff yours will only reason mine didn't is i didn't tie it down til toards the end of the streach and they really didnt streatch to much because of other factors but this is just to show you basiccally how it works so now you can see there are more tops of similar size rather than one big one at the top and and a bunch of little stuff lower... hope it helps.... these arn't great examples as they were old mothers in small pots that been hacked in half a couple times so yours will have even better results

yea man just go down a few inches from the top put some twine around it and jently pull it down and you will be set

you can see in them pictures where if it wasnt tied down that one big toop would be like a foot higher than the rest and they would have never done that well

you should check this out for all them other ons you got ther>>> https://www.rollitup.org/view.php?pg=faq&cmd=article&id=685
