how tall/old should plant be before switching to 12/12?

I know that seems probably like a vague question, my plant is short and i've been vegging for about a month and half, however, it is quite low and bushy and that's what i was going for (topped very often).

i'm just looking for a shot in the dark i guess how much more i should let it veg before switching over.

i'll try to update with pics later. thanks!

i put some in flower the other day that are only a few days from sprout....

flower whenever you want to. just consider stretch, 2-3x for an indica, 3-8x for a sativa...

when you flower, the first two or three weeks is dedicated to stretch. your plant/s will grow at an extreme rate, doubling, tripling, quadrupling....(and more) it's height. if you have a 5' high grow room, you want to flower at 12-18'' so your plants don't get to big or too tall.

Switch it over now if you want. It will grow a good bit during flowering, but if you have space, veg it for longer.

I would wait another week or two if you could, that silly fella who posted before starting 12/12 after a few days old will kill his plant, you cant just flower whenever you want.

The hormones in the plant which make it a female or a male dont even develop until you see a 2nd or 3rd node on the plant. If you start 12/12 too early the only thing your doing is robbing the plant of much needed energy it needs in order to develop. Its like trying to muscle train an infant. Not gonna do much, wait until they get older, and even if you are successful, you wouldn't get enough bud to roll a joint.

If you want check our my grow, I detail when I started the flowering and how old/tall they where. mine where just under 2 months old and about 2 feet tall. My plant is 2 weeks in flowering and has grown a bit taller but not much. Its like 2.5 feet now.

Not true. You can flower a plant from sprout. And it does work. You just wont get jack shit for yield.

Technically were both wrong, only becuase all strains are different and a few can actually react to changing photoperiod very young. BUT in most to all marijuana plants the hormones that trigger sexual development are not present in the plant until at LEAST the first or second week of development (which can usually be identified by the number of nodes which is why I used that as an indicator)

Hope this helps.

I have flowered from sprout several time and just got shitty yields. Never had a problem. I think you can flower anytime you want to!

I usually flower between 12-18 inches, but you can flower pretty fast if you want to. I would not suggest it. You have a pretty bushy plant there its going to turn out nice.

lol, you are just fucking hilarious

take a look at my threads and posts deary, and do some homework. just because you grew a few plants doesn't mean you are ed friggin rosenthal. this is my biggest gripe about these damn forums. the blind leading the blind. if you don't know what you're talking about, shut the fuck up.

love, kp :blsmoke:

something that would help is you visiting icmag.com, and doing a tad bit of looking around. see what the pros are up to, you might just be amazed

Listen Dike, I posted what I read on multiple sites, as a matter of fact I will find the links, it all seemed sound to me, so change your pad and smoke a bowl bitch.
as i said, hilarious

go find your links sweetie, then do a search on the same site for "12/12 from seed". it's a method that is used by many med and commercial growers, called Sea Of Green, or SOG. sog can be done from clone (as is usually the case, all female, no males to sort out), but to do it from seed one generally allows no more than ten days of veg.

go to icmag, search for growdoc, check out his threads, you'll see what i'm talking about.

and have a nice day!

ps, i'll accept your apology when you're ready to give it ;)
