How soon can I turn up the nutes?

I have just sprouted two el nino from green house. talk about seed vigour, drop them in water for 24 hours wednesday, planted thurday night in rockwool and they are up with there first set of true leaves just starting to pop out. The true leaves are about 4 mm long. I have took the dome off and they are under 100watts of 3000k cfls with plain water.

Can I kick on the 1000 watt hps and start a 1/4 strenght nutes solution for feeding already?

If you don't have cfl's use the hps but keep it high from the top at least 2 ft that's a lot of lumens for a little plant
Wait till you get a 3 bladed leaf to use nutes and use at quarter strength to start

no to the nutes. save electricity and stick with the cfl's, close up, for now. imo

I put my 250 watt metal halide about 4 feet above my seedlings and bleached them. They lived but it shocked them. I'd give them a month to get over being seedlings. Than again I'm a newbie in my second grow so what do I know.

when you have a few sets of leaves, and you notice good growth, give 1/4 strength. imo

Absolutely NO need for nutes or a 1kw light right now. You can use the 1000w light if you like, but DON'T give them any nutes.
