How short is to short when planting a germinated seed? (Pic included)

I'm growing really impatient and want to know if you should wait until the tap root gets to a certain length.

Thanks

It's ready to go. As long as you see that the root has broke through the seed shell you're good to go.

I've always just got a cup of soil and poked air holes all around. I'd push my finger in the soil and throw the seed in and then add water into the hole. It has worked for me well. Out of 20 seeds, all 20 germinated. Five died before growing into baby plants and 1 is very weak. The rest are well.

be very careful and maybe use tweezers?... I would wait a little bit longer for longer growth.. but gently putting the bean in may be just cool.
