How often should I clean the glass on my air-cooled hood?

You can buy an anti static wipe to try and help, I would just try to filter everything I could and clean it whenever it starts getting noticeable build up.

Filter it? Should I attach a pair of tights to the end of the intake ducting using a large elastic band to do this? Or should I spend some money on a special ducting filter designed to keep out bugs, dust etc. mainly from air coming from the outside? Would this not reduce rate of air-flow? At the moment I'm only using a 4" fan and a ducting reducer so that it is a substitute for the 6" fan I assume you're supposed to use with my Blockbuster.

As for the ant-static wipes, are these simply the ones you use on monitors (VDUs)? The reason I'm so paranoid about dust is because I have read it is the number one way for light levels to be filtered by the glass.

A couple layers of panty hose material under slight tension over the air inlet will provide cheap and effective dust filtering. If you want to kick it up a notch spray a little Endust on it and let it dry since the air doesn't go into the growth chamber no problems with the chemicals. Starts looking dirty throw it out and replace or wash and reuse.

a regular duct filter will definetly reduce air from any fan its a restriction in air flow ,thiner filter less loss.

I can't imagine it being dusty enough to have to clean it more than once each harvest. If it's really that bad, just pull it out after the lights have been off a while and wipe it down with some Windex. Wait till the lights are out - otherwise it will be very hot.
