How MUCH Water?

Ok, my plants are 40 days old. Vegging under a total of 191 watts of 5200k and above cfls. 20/4 light schedule. They are about 14" tall. I have them in 4 gallon buckets.

I use 1 tsp of foxfarm grow big plus one drop of superthrive per gallon of water. My question is, how much should I be watering each time I water?

I want to make sure I am giving them enough. Last time I watered I gave them each 7.5 cups. I am using ozonated spring water from walmart.
I water them once they start to dry out and the top 2 or 3 inches of soil as no longer displaying much moisture.

I have heard up to 2 quarts....thoughts?

The quantity of water you have to deliver depends on the size of the pot and on your soil.

It is believed to be ideal, if you have a pot with holes at the bottom and a dripping pan under, to see some 15%-20% out of the total amount of water poured accumulate in the pan.

Ok well I have a bunch of holes at the bottom and sides. But no water comes out.

I am pretty sure the plants have good drainage. I add the water 2.5 cups at a time and the soil absorbs the water within 30 seconds and small holes which air escapes from form.

So more water then it sounds like?

Does 7.5 cups for 4 gallon pots seem like too little? Kinda does to me....

the only way to tell how much water for your particular set up is to keep adding water until some runs out of the bottom. if no water coming out, then you aren't using enough
