How much light for a 5x5x6 grow space?

Second time grow here and i just bought a tent to make things easier, instead of building an enclosure. its 5x5x6. I currently have a 400 watt hps, and a bunch of cfl's just sitting in a box.

My question: I know that my light is not big enough for my tent. Until after this grow I doubt I'll upgrade, and if I do I'm getting another 400 or a 600 hps. What can I do to supplement the lack of light? make something to use all my cfls? get a fluorescent? not really sure how to supplement besides fluorescent lighting.

i have an extra 75 watt high pressure sodium light also.

if you cant afford bigger and brighter light, put your 75 watt and cfls to use. Check out a product called "Liquid Light" also. Helps out tremendously in low light situations. Hope this helps.

i think if you hang cfls you will add light to the "shady areas" but i think id go with a 600 not another 400 (alot of heat) but remember to stay bushy as ull loose a ton of light penetration as you go above 3 feet i thjink it is!oo by the way im no pro...just looked into building the same tent as you...looks good by the way hope it dioesnt stink outside ur box...how many plants??

Haven't stgarted so no idea on smell lol, but there will be 5 autoflowers andx 2 regular fems

No less than 600w IMO, if you can go 1000w. I have a 4x4 tent with 600w hps and I'm looking at supplement lighting, either LED or CFL until I can afford to upgrade to a 1000w

man look there guy growing sweet bud withh ccl hanging from top to bottom of there plant anf get a qp almost so dont fret youll be fine do your best and keep it arounf 76* atleast 2 osalating fans humidity under 45% 400w HPS as close a possible 3500k on the cfl or lower.

the only problem i see is the auto flower a 24hrs light and at sompoint youll need to go 12/12 on the femys so i wuold no grow together just my opion, like what i said click the star on the lower left by journal this post thanks ill send one back

50 watts per square feet so 25 square feet times 50=1250 watts

might be getting a 600 watt and 6" inline for free, if i let this guy put 5 plants in for this harvest of 3 months. solves my problems eh?

and i'm going to start the fems about 5 weeks into the autoflower, so when theyre done i can change the light cycle n flower the 2 fems.
