how many plants do you fit per m^2?

So do you start them all together and have a canopy or do more of a perpetual grow with staggered harvests? do you think your way better? why? and whatwould you like to try?

I think you need 600w for one meter, that's 10-20 plants.
You can start few every 2 or 3 weeks but you will need to adjust their hight to the big ones. Probably several led will work better.

Auto are not always big, you can get 30gr auto and it's OK (hugh ones reach 200gr)
With good LED you can probably go with 350w for one m2. With HPS I think 600w is good, 400w might be limit but OK.
Strong light also gives you depth and not just surface. With 600w you can grow around 1m canopy with buds.

I have a 4x4 with a 600w, im gunna go for 9 in 20L pots (I know 20Lis probably overkill) hoping to get 3 seeds down every 3 weeks

You CAN do perpetuals with autos .... I do sets of 4 at a time .... with 2 -3 week apart starts .

All 18/6 cycle to rule them all .... you will be able to harvest every 3 weeks or so.
With a single tent it is the most viable option. And there are some decent autos ;)

I grew autos in 3 gallon pots and they were always about an oz per plant. These were standard autos (trans siberian from world of seeds or speed seeds and auto kush ryder and sanserras of all sorts).
I grew 9 in my 4 x 4 (120 x 120CM) think my first grow ever and got 12 oz. 4 varieties.

Yes there ARE definitely better strains of autos out there ... mephisto gets good size , HSO too.
Just stay away from dwarfy or low ryder types ...
UNLESS you run these like SOG grows where you can cram in many more ( say 1 gallon bags )
@HighLowGrow does great with berry ryders and take a look at his thread.

I got a bunch of serious seeds white russian, grew them a few years back and pulled 2-2.5oz of each of them, i got dark devil auto and big devil xxl both from sweet seeds for free

Go to mephisto web. They have recommended way of grow for many of their strains..I usualy do 6 in 15 l air pots..But again I had 4 dinafem girls In 10l fabric pots , critical 2.o and auto blue cheese, they stole my whole 1m2 tent..My expirience is everything beyond 400w of cobs is overkill in 1m2 tent..

I now stick to 4 plants and run photos.

I no longer have that hardware. It was an old 550 watt 9 MCOB blurple light. It could grow but my 315 CMH can do the same thing for 200 watts less power and heat to deal with.

Nine plants is about all I can fit into a 4 x 4 @ 875W - 1000W DE. Gets difficult to water and inspect, have to physically move plants out of the way. I run clones off the keepers and they are ready before the first plants are done flowering so there is a bit of a back up. Now I'll be down to five plants for 1.5 months but the clones will be wanting to push the flowering plants out. Multi strain, usually 2-4 strains and then my go to strain. Pix after more coffee.

20181026_082337_resized.jpg I am planning next year and can not figure a way to get 20 in a 10x10 shed that has a 5x4 tent in it. This year 4 clones in the tent took up almost all the room. Currently I have 2K, 1.5K, 900 watt LEDs. I am adding two more 1K LEDs. My product was very sticky.
Next year I will grow from seed to just before flower, cut it down to make clones, then grow the clones. Seeds only give you a Christmas tree shaped plant. Prune and maybe you get 5 tops? With clones, it took over 1/4 of the tent. Buds everywhere.

Did you just let clones do their own thing or use a method? Why to flower and not say halfway?

I am aiming to get as many clones as I need, a larger plant will allow you to take more with out killing it. Hopefully these two become mothers for two more harvests of clones. So it is size and viability of clones I am aiming for with these seeds. A clone likes some leaves removed to make the stem of the new clone. On a seedling only 24 days old, you would get few arms that have three levels of leaves on it. Taking 10 clones would probably not be possible. Death of the mother probable. I will be posting all the outcomes in my blog, days of growth from seed, number of clones taken and days to re grow mother to clone harvest shape again.

I picked up two clones at a Market last year. They looked like twigs with a few leaves poking out of the sticks. As they were growing I was trying to top them, but no place to do it ever presented itself. In the end all I could do is tie down the extra long arms and the whole arm's side buds changed to top buds! Every plant is getting this treatment this year. Kind of like a modified elevated Sea of Green. With some strains of cannabis it is hard to bend but with a few days of training, it will get to be a 90 degree turn.
