How Many Plants Can i Grow In a 1.2m x 1.2m x 2m Tent With a 400w HPS

Hey, newbie grower here. I'm wondering how many i can fit in a tent this size. It's 1.2m x 1.2m x 2m (4ft x 4ft x 6.5ft) When i first got this tent we shoved about 6 sativas in it and the result was horrible, mainly because we didn't know what we was doing. ATM i'm growing just 1 indica and it's going really well. I know i can fit more in but how many do you think i could fit in for a maximum yield? Thanks guys appreciate any help.

Got a grow going in a 1,2x1,2x1,8, which started out with 1 400w.
It appears a 600w would have been more suitable.

I got my hands on another 400w and used that next to it, but you need good temperature controle for that.
I do 5 plants in my tent, and did some lst like acitivities, mostly just bending branches where I wanted them to go and removed some foliage recently for more optimal coverage.

So if there is space for 5 plants in my tent, would 400w be sufficient enough for them? I try to keep it between 76-84 degrees in the tent, i dont really have 'good temperature control' i have a fan pointing into the tent haha

There is room for a lot more plants, depanding on what type of grow you would want to do I supose. I first considered a scrog net to help devide the canopy, but with a little and attention its quite managable I came to find.

I believe for a foot print of a 400w its said that 9 plants would have a very good coverage, but in my opinion those plants would have been forced to stay small.

Then a scrog net would be more applicable, as it would take a lot more intesive tying and whatnot. In theory you could also do 1 plant with a large pot, and train that to cover the entire surface. But it would require a lot more vegging.

For my 5 plants I vegged near 50 days. I took in accout my plants would grow another 50cm roughly in the first two weeks of the flower stage.

In effect, I kept an eye on growth and expected growth, and took that into calculation when I flipped to 12/12 to maximize height usage.

i have a 1mx1mx2m tent with a 600hps main-lined and get 20+ oz out of it. veg 8 weeks in coco canna a+b big bud pk14/15 rhizotonic and over drive easy peasey

Right, i don't want things to get too out of hand like they did the last time i threw a load in there. I might try and grow three plants after i harvest the plant i'm growing atm. Then if i can grow three plants well then i might consider 4 the next time. then maybe 5 the next. I'd rather have a few decent plants than a load of small low yielding plants

wow nice going. How many plants do you veg for 8 weeks? I'm gonna flower the 1 plant i have at 12 weeks, you saying that is giving me high hopes for it

From what I read from your reply (fan blowing inwards into the tent) I think its safe to say your running a minimal setup ?

Do consider that a good climate is at the heart of your success (ofc feeding and strains too, but the climate comes first, as its their living enviroment)
Perhaps its an idea to throw in a topic with your setup and gear, and perhaps ask for tips or feedback on how to improve ?
Many people on this forum have very good low budget approaches to a wide variety of comon problems.

Yeah i think it is safe to say that. I don't have anything fancy but it seems to be working and i don't really have any big issues. I've been keeping the tent humid, and the fan does a good job of circulating the air and keeping it cooler on a hot day. Honestly, i think my setup is fine, i don't think a big expensive setup is really necessary for me. Thanks for the advice though, i probably will post a thread showing my setup and see what people think of it at one point.

4 plants. read through nugbuckets main-lining thread and canna coco thread save yourself a load of time and go big straight away
