how many plants can 292,000 lumen do?

As a general question for lets say, a 3ft tall clone that was vegged for 2 mo. How many plants will do good under a 292,000 lumens system for budding. (2000w hps)

Anyone know, any guesses?

god damnit i knew the first person to say something back would not understand, i never said how many bulbs. if you must know 1x1000w hps, and 4x250w lamps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shit dude with that kinda light I'd just say as much as you can fit in your grow room. Its more a question of how much space you have.

how big is the bloom room?

in a 6x10 foot room with an 8 foot cieling i have 1200 watts going to 30-35 girls at any given time.
but i dont let my girls get 3 feet tall either.

2x1000 watt lights do not emit 292000 lumens. Just 146000 lumens each. (using his numbers, which are close) Plus he gave no idea of the space size he has to work with. No way to answer this question at this point. I was just curious about the "292000 lumens system" thats all.

i got what you were asking cowboy. 1 lumen+ 1 lumen does not equal two lumens. having four 250 watts dont make them collectively as bright or brighter than the 1000w. you should really just focus on watts not the lumens.

OK, glad you got it. What needs to be focused on is room size and shape first. Then having that information in hand you can then make a smart decision on lighting. What is yur room size? But max lumens per sp ft is what you are shooting for. 5000 lumen per sq ft is min. for flowering in my mind. 8000-10000 near perfect. Anything over 15000 is a waste and probaly causing some light bleaching. Just my opinion though.

with my 600 in my closet ill run about 8000 lumens per sq.ft in veg and around 12,000 in flowering. my grow box about 10 sq.ft and yes. once you determine your grow room setup, then see how do most efficiently use your lights, ie all the plants get equal light. if i were you you and had a big square grow room or tent, then i would probably mount the 1000w in the very middle of the plants and run the 250w in a square around the 1000w. although some of the outer plant will not be near as hardy as the one directly under the 1000w. you could get a square reflector and depending on ceiling height you could get your 1000w to cover a bigger area and the 250's can be alot closer.

four 250's and a 1k don't go together well at all. 250's would only do for supplemental lighting and running 4 small lights is way way less efficient than if you just sold those and got another 1k. Two 1k's would cover maybe 8 bushes 4' tall depending on how wide they are, in a small bedroom.

1k and 4 250's can't cover any more area than 1k alone really.

Sounds like you have things covered nicely. 250s are only good for small garden single light grows. edit: if the area is a bit to large for a single 1000. two 600's should work great.

haha yes i know this, ideally he wants to have two 1000w or atleast a 1000w and a 600w. but i was giving him an idea to use for what he had if he didnt want to sell his or buy a new light. :hump:

y a but instead of flourescent side lighting its HPS haha. i wouldnt mind having 1000watts of side lighting for my 1000 watt single light imagine the BUDS ;)

wow i was really tired last night, made a few mistakes cuz i got my plans confused, let me explain.

I have no limit on room size i can make the room any size by any size! rite now it's about 15'x20'(i can change the size of the room), Here is my problem, i have a big room and only 1000w hps light that puts out 156,000 lumen, the ceiling is not very high so i was going to add 4x250w hps lights arraigned for good light coverage kinda like this / -- \ (250s angeled on the 4 corners of the growing space, and 1000w in the middle) or would it just be better to get another 1000w hps and get lots of power from 2 points above the plants with not as good of coverage. Yes the 2x1000w hps lights would put out more lumen but not as even on all the plants. LOL how much wattage is to much wattage for a 3 bedroom house with no one living in it.

:)

edit on the last one sorry i just woke up lol, 156,000 lumen ont he 1000W bulb if it is a lower grade bulb, and 28,000 min on each 250 with lower grade bulbs, i wont be using cheap bulbs so i figured for the min 268,000.

man if you have that much space then you need waaay more lighting. a 1000 watt can cover maybe about a 6x6 area. if i were you id go with a bunch of 600w. atleast 12. with the lighting you have now you wont even utilize have your grow room. if you dont want to get new lights then make it 10x10 or 12x12. and do a SOG or SCROG to get a good canopy. if you want to use that whole room then you will need more lights than that. think of it this way. at 15x20 you have 300 sq ft. of floor. one 1000w cover around 36 sq. ft. a 600w about 25 square feet. run them like such

=---=---=

=---=---=

=---=---=

=---=---=

= is the 600w. --- is tubing for ventilation. oh get vented hood. itll make things easier.

thank you thats some good info and ideas but the question still stands at, with 2000w or 2200w in a room with no size limit ( will make it the size needed) how many 3ft tall 2ft wide plants could i put in there and have them be happy not low on light?
