How many plants = a felony?

I live in California, and I'm wondering, if I were to get caught, how many plants makes it a felony?
Right now I have 3 tiny couple week old plants from bag weed, and 3 clones.
My roommate said he thinks 6 is one too many.
Anyone know?

So 1 plant means going to jail for up to 3 years?
