how many plant could i grow with a 150 watt hps

It is going to depend on the style of the grow. You will have limited penetration with a 150 so you may want to look into topping and LST to maximize an even canopy. You could do 1 or 2 if they are trained properly, maybe even do a scrog grow. I have done them with 2 plants and it worked out great.

I'd stick to one plant just because you can more easily manage to get one plant to grow into the footprint of the light and it's less work to care for one. You *can* do multiple little plants, but there will always be one that grows bigger/faster than the others, and often one that will be behind, one that will want more or less nutrients, etc... it's just more work and hassle for very little (if any payoff) if growing from seed.

But I only grow 2 at a time under a 600w, so I know I'm biased to less numbers and bigger/bushier plants. It's really just a question of style or technique and what you want to do in the end though. For example, if you want to try multiple auto strains at one time or if you are doing a micro-SoG w/ clones and 12/12... there's just so many different ways to do things.

thanks have a solid lookig plant now so ithink ill just keep my plant going i had a grip of seedlings that im jnust gonna let some buddie take off my hands just i DONT got room for 6-7 plants

lol dude i ordered it it on the way will be here on the 12th...thats just a little playong around ive been doing

You can usually put a 150w as close as a few inches away from the top to up to 10 inches away for little/young plants if you want (just make sure you have some airflow going over the top of the plants). Just as a general reference:
