How many nodes for SOG

I was curious as to if anybody has ran a SOG and approx how many nodes you want per clone when you cut it.
I would LIKE to get an oz per plant, but would really be cool with 0.5-1oz per plant.
I would imagine amount of nodes would matter when trying to hit that 1oz mark, right? Any helpful tips or info they would like to share? Lol

Thats an awful vague question. Are you talking without vegging, just rooting and going to 12/12?
A tiny clone can make well over 1 oz if vegged long enough
I have never done a sog, so i cant help you there.

Yeah a sea of green. Going from rooted clone to MAYBE a couple days veg... maybe... then flip to flower.

Im about to attempt a SOG pushing 100 clones. I have a connection to several mothers, but they won't be ready until probably Jan 1. I'll cut the clones and put them in my own cloner. It typically takes 2 weeks (10days ~) for the clones to have a nice root ball, I'll probably let them go another week just so they will be steady strong and hopefully vegged ready for flower. I using an ebb and flow variant with a 4x8 tray. I expect some to give over an oz but others will probably only bring 1 oz ~. So yes you can get it for sure. I wouldn't let anything grow below the bud site, including other bud sites, except maybe a fan leaf. Keep all the plants energy going up to the top and no where else. Know what your strains ppm limit is and stay just below it especially in the beginning. I use RAW B Vitamin and feed them this a couple days before I do whatever I'm doing to stress them (repotting, cutting clones etc). As far as how many nodes.... just depends on you. Im going big and I don't want to have to deal with anything accept the top bud, so if I have any nodes not the plant other than the top bud site I won't let anything grow at the nodes. Unless there's another bud sight right below the main one that would grow into the top bud making a larger bud. Good luck, Id like to know how you did if you could.

good luck post some pictures next month when you get them going i would like to see

Yeah I will probably be doing a grow journal. Most likely.
I ended up getting PM on my clones in my cloner (room wasn’t insulated and the temp and humidity swung like crazy).
so this time I’m gonna have to try something else. I’ll prob end up running a SOG around January as well.
how are you keeping your cloner environment? Do you use a water chiller to make sure your temps are cool for the water? What’s the room temp/ humidity?
I have the npk line as well that I’ll use for spot treatments and stuff.
im Prob gonna run emerald harvest nutes

When I run SoG its all about the tops so most of the lower nodes get lolipopped in favor of just the top nug and maybe the couple right below it. When done right you just have a canopy full of colas and no light is getting below that as they are packed in too tightly.

To save time I like to cut the clones big and from tops of the mother. 6-8 inch tall is a good place for me when I am clipping my cuts. I want them all the same so I will cut extras and when they are rooted use the best ones. I likes to run a grid of 7 x 7 plants in a 4x4 tray (minus one for tray fittings) so 48 plants per 4x4. That resulted in about 3/4 ounce per plant, but it's all in the top nug, that biggun that everyone wants.

You can run pretty much any strain in SOG, right? Regardless of indica, sativa, or hybrid?
I got a couple cuts I’m gonna for hash and I was gonna try to run a SOG with those. They’re probably all hybrids. Mountain trop, mochi gelato, poon tang pie, and slurricane.
they should all grow well enough for a sog, right?

Running each strain at a different time. So 1 strain per run.
I have a 4x8 tent that I was gonna use for veg, and a 4x12 canopy km trying to fill for flower

with such different strains going on at the same time, i wouldn't give them much growth time, you could be surprised by stretch

*one strain per run is better indeed.
Maybe some of them won't be effective with SOG, you just have to try or search feedbacks

technically yes. however a bushy plant structure means you are going to be trimming and defoliating a lot more. ideally you want something with very little side branching. sometimes called a single cola or "corn stalk" pheno of certain strains. I am currently hunting through some BOG genetics and have found both a SourBubble and SourStrawberry that fit the description. in flower now, so time will tell if they are actual keepers.

I have a SourBubble x GDP cross ive run a few rounds and attempted to "SOG" but this girl likes to self top and turn into mini bushes no matter what I do.

I agree find the right plants to limit excess branches that will disrupt the canopy your trying to build with the single colas

I’m not going to run all those strains at once. Each strain will be a mom or 2. Then I will take clones. Each time I flower, I’ll run a single strain.

Damn I’m limited on height, so that’s why I was going with an ebb and flow sog method. Figured they would be my best bet since I have another area that I can veg in.

it can definitely work. just keep them super packed in close during veg to limit the light that gets to the lower branches. and depending on strain you just have to defoliate more often.
