how many lumen would you reccomend for a nice crop

they are kind of sluggish.

I live in a dry place, and am working on a humidity, But you think 1.5 x 1.5 area is well lit enough for two plants using 7200 lumen?
 
150 watt hps for flowering........ 70 bucks on ebay by lumtek and just use about 8 cfls in the 6500k for veg stage 20/4 atleast the 1st 4-5 weeks you should get a lucious grow for urself

Lumatek does not make a 150 watt HPS nor is anything by lumatek that cheap
Also, for veg you want 18/6 not 20/4
 
20/4 works just fine. OT1 did a study on this (link), and the results showed that plants vegged 20/4 gave a better end yield that plants vegged at either 18/6 or 24/0.

He can have the 2 extra hours of light on a day, I veg just fine under 18/6
And by the way if you didn't notice, 18/6 was the most used lighting on the poll, I think that says more than one guys view on it.
Therefore I take that dudes "experiment results" as nothing more than a grain of salt
Thanks for your input though, I will go with 18/6 and suggest others to do so as well
 
Oldtimer1 is a legend in UK growing circles. He knows his stuff, and has been doing this shit for a long time. When he says "we did a lot of experiments", he means it. He's not just some kid trying to go against the established ways to make a name for himself.

I will take my experience over word of mouth anyday
 
No need to get defensive mate, I was just supplying the information as I understand it. I trust this guy's knowledge, and have used 20/4 successfully for a long time myself.

I am just pointing out that 18/6 isn't the only way to veg, and it may not even be the best way. It's up to you, and others who read this, what they do with this information. I'm just putting it out there.

I just thought the kid thing was kinda a funny comment considering i have been growing for somewhere around 15 years and im 43 lmfao and i dont post pics of my grows on my computer as i dont see that to be the smartest thing to do and i just joined the riu this month as i was informed by a growing buddy that found this website so i thought i might try as you have not seen anypost from me asking questions have you hmmmm.. wonder why thanks for your time sorry if you disagree with me was just trying to help out 2nd week on here to and already getting ran down thats why i keep my growing to myself but anyways i have some deep chunk XXX strawberry cough to tend to its feeding time ( and to correct my error i meant sunsystem)
