How many inches til you start floweing?

Height really doesnt matter, its the number of nodes that counts. dont flower before the 6th node. good luck!
well, i would go even futrher and say that nothing really matters because one can flower anytime, straight from the seed included, so theres no 6th node rule...my preferable height is a foot+..

I don't pay attention to height. I wait until a plant is mature and ready to flower when the branches coming off the main stem start growing in an staggered/alternating pattern, instead of parallel to each other.

well it really depends on how much space you have and how big you want them to be. The plant generally doubles in size from when you start flowering. Just make sure the plant is mature enough to handle the big nugs. i use clones and i start flowering them at 8-12" tall.

+1 You can't argue with mother nature!

hey Jon... all depends on the type of grow... you can flower a clone in 1 week with 1 node... sog style grows go from clone box to flowering ... good luck

One big factor is how much wattage your lighting is. Smaller lights can't penetrate too far into the canopy, so tall plants are a waste. If you have side-lighting or big wattage, then you can go with taller plants before flowering.

skunkluvr is right lighting is a factor as well as space and what u want to yield... im with the s.o.g. method and i stick clones once they root into the flowerin room because they will grow vegetatively for the first two weeks no matter what.

I know everyone starts flowering at different times, but what is your preferable height?
My range is around 6" to 12" for I have vertical limitations. My ceilings are only 8 ft. and my plants are in containers on my old flood tables with casters when I use to do hydro. Also my decision is based upon if the strain I am growing is indica dominant or sativa dominant.

man, i tried at 1 ft and there was light breaking into the night cycle12/12. my plants grew 2 ft without my permission. now i fixed the crack so, complete darkness. but now i have three 3 1/2+ tall plants...........just made it 15 inches from the (hps)bulb on the ceilling

But this is Indoor Growing and "mother Nature" can be manipulated.

I have a 400w light so I usually go at about 4-6 nodes/leaf sets, this results in 1-2 foot plants at harvest.
