What's the practical limit to how many CFL bulbs one can wire into a single circuit? Started with (4) 42w and have since added (4) 27w. They are all wired together with 14 gauge wire and plug into a single electrical socket. Total wattage is 276w so I believe it's safe as far as the electrical outlet and wire gauge are concerned....
But is there anything about CFL's that would cause them to loose brightness or anything if there are a bunch all wired together? I'm not really up to speed on how CFL's behave.
I'm only asking because when I added the extra bulbs the original bulbs seemed to look a little dimmer when looking at them with the naked eye. I suspect it's just an illusion of some sort. Original bulbs were "soft white" (i.e. red spectrum) and the added bulbs are "day light" (i.e. blue spectrum). Maybe that contrast in bulb color (the difference is clear to the eye) is contributing to my perception of light output [shrug].
