i have a great set-up that i cant use because my room mates are gay. But i do have a locked closet which im sure i can sneak a plant into, im thinking one fem white widow (GH). My question is how many watts do i need to grow a respectable plant? There will be no ventilation in this closet which is 3x2x8 and filled half up with boxes. Right now i have 2 26watters going and temps are stable at 80f, not sure if it could take any much more then what i have without over heating though.
BTW im growing in a 10" pot which i hope will be enough, but at the same time keep her kind of small
thanks for any tips and happy growing everyone

any advice here guys? I gues im going to tie her down also cause i know how poor light penetration is on these cfl's

you need ventilation even if you dont have heat, plants need to breath fresh co2 rich air. stagnate closet air wont do. while cfls dont put off the heat as hid lighting a cluster of them can warm things up real well.

Yes, ventilation is always necessary.

well to put it quite bluntly there is no way to ventilate because of my situation. So unfortunitly i will soon find out if you can grow w.o ventilation haha.
thanks for the confidence booster teatreeoil, i also think it will be worth while as air will naturaly flow. Wish me luck! worse comes to worse i waste $5 on a seed

I've got one in a 3x3x8 closet, a little fan, and just open the door up a little while each day, and it works out ok, but I'm sure I could do a lot better with more ventilation.
P.S. There is a decent gap between the floor and the door, don't know if that's what you've got going on.

no need for ventilation for "fresh air" etc for 1 plant and a few cfls.. a simple fan blowing in the closet will be fine.. If you open the door every day and look in on it thats a plus.. air will get exchanged via cracks between the door and door jam/floor etc.. Bad/wrong advice is easily accesible here lately.

then quit spreading it......:fire:
air exchange is just as important as nutrients, light, water and medium. anybody who wants to argues different is just showing how inexperienced they really are..........

To get a somewhat respectable plant I'd use at least 4 lights...obviously it's going to get a little warm but get an extra fan and point it at the lights, open the door a few times a day and something will grow....probably won't be the best of conditions but you should be able to get some bud out of it
