How long until card arrives? Also Downsides?

I was wondering if anyone that has already gotten their card could throw me some timelines on how long it took. I think I read somewhere it takes 2-3 weeks after they receive the application but im not sure.

Also whats the downsides I know one guy was listing some off but from what I can remember it is

- Cant buy guns...?

- They can come check out your grow at any time?

correct me if im wrong here ....and add any others.

well with my california script i cant own any guns so id assume itd be the same regardless of gun laws differing, someone i know got theirs in 3 1/2 weeks, and im not to sure about them checking your grow at any time but it is a "schedule 1 drug" so id assume the cops can do as the please.

Why even mess with a card, especially here? No dispensaries so what is the advantage?

I have lived in Alaska my whole life. I know plenty of growers that wont get on the radar with a card and some that do. The way I look at is, if they want to bust you they will regardless. You think they actually obtain warrants before they listen to your phone calls or your cc statements or any, please. Go read the Patriot act. But anyways always stay under 24, this includes clones or anything at all with roots. And yes i feel you should get a card if you have an illness, this is not california...yea there are no dispensaries here but guess what there is also NO federal raids. I have my card and i can get pulled over with a zip on me and they have to give it back... worth it right there. Growing up i have lost alot of buds to cops who just "take it off your hands" no police report. I know someone who had 2 cops pull him over and take his 4 lbs and leave him at a gas station in the middle of no where. fuck the police. and it takes 30 days to get your card. They have 35 days to deny you or approve you otherwise the copy of your application with the doc sig and a copy of your money order and copy of cert mail date stapled together is considered a card.
