How long to keep bud.

I don't smoke until the weekend just because of my schedule. The problem I'm having is all my weed that I grew is in jars in a dark cool place. Most of the strains yielded 3 to 4 32oz Mason jars. Grow 3 to 4 strains at a time you can imagine amount of stored weed. How long can I keep it before I have to throw it out? Or do I have to if I never open the jar?

uh, toss that shit in the fridge bra. vacuum seal it once its cured and it should last for years. moisture, and oxygen is what fucks you. ive heard in the fridge/freezer it will last easily 2+ years.

The THC in bud starts to degrade as soon as you chop it so a good way to store it is to vacuum seal it,in a mason jar it should be good for a few months I would think.
I know one guy who put it in zip lock bags and froze it but I don't know how it was afterwards so that might not be a good idea.

though 1 month is pretty tasty for some strains.
In jars I would say 6 months is the expiration date of the day you properly dried it.
I kept some longer but it gets dark in color and loses the taste and smell.

I still have bunch been cured for 8+ months in jars and is doing just fine. Just remember the longer it's stored the more the thc breaks down and degrades. But it can store for fairly long time . If your still worried try making butter or tinctures with some and store .

For experience: A year in jars is fine as long as you don't let it get too dry. However, it will lose some taste and potency and this seems to accelerate after around 6-8 months of curing. Vacuum sealed using a descent sealer (I use a Food Saver) and then placed in a second container in the back of a freezer will last for 2-3 years or more. You need to protect it from air, humidity, and temperature changes (from freezer door opening/closing).

I recently found an oz in my freezer that was from 2009. It was cured for a year (meaning I had better things to smoke) and then I vacuum sealed it in a Food Saver bag, tossed that into a plastic container in the freezer, and forgot about it. Taken from the freezer, the four year old buds were brown and dry, but not bone dry or crumbly. There was no smell or taste in the buds, but they were still potent when smoked. I made some really good QWISO hash with it. The hash is VERY potent and has a nice fruity taste.

Of course the best way to store weed for a long time is to make it into hash and press it.

Thanks everyone. I have several wonderful strains that just too good to waste. Ill be getting the food saver vac next payday. I just finished growing Ace of Spades and the smell has changed from a lemon gasoline smell to a lemon kool-aid smell. Dried for one week and cured in jars for another week. This will help me save it for a holiday as I really like the high from it. Thanks again everyone.
