How long is health Canada taking to send out new cards?

Hey everyone i just got presrcribed MM last week I was wondering how long the wait time it is right now? And I heard a rumor that they aren't issuing cards anymore? Is this true?

I was approved in march of 2010, and I have yet to receive the plastic card they promised.
They sent out a full piece of paper though that I have to carry around, it states all the shit that your card does, except its not plastic.

Highly doubt they'll send me my card before my recommendation expires.

for new patients it took me 11 weeks for production and possesion license from health canada and that was in August 2011

I applied in October and had it in 7 weeks, though no plastic.

I received my paper in the mail on holloween, still no card. I know a few people that have already sent in thier renewal form, no card, yet i got a buddy that got his card with his paper at the start of the year.

Little word of advice: DO NOT carry your original pink sheet with you. PHOTOCOPY IT. Put the original behind glass, and hang it on the wall. The only time that it should ever leave that wall is if you are going to court regarding it. Cops like to destroy the original. And without it, your not covered by MMAD. If anyone asks to see the original, refuse it, the photocopy is all you legally need in the absence of the card.

they do not give the cards out anymore. they only send out that document, it took me 8 weeks to get mine.

My wife still hasn't received her card and was issued her papers in October, but there was a letter stating that her card would be sent at a later date.

the letter you get says you will receive a card. They stopped issuing the cards out last year so now its all on paper instead. I have no idea why they stopped doing that but it would be alot more conveinent

The person I grow for talked to HC yesterday and was told they are still sending out cards, just too swamped to do it at this time.

I find it ridiculous that more attention is given to the salaries of people in administrative positions than there is to patients in need of medicine.

Regardless of it being outside to "norm" when it comes to treatment.

My plastic card came with my package in Aug. of 2011?? I do not understand.

i just got my "papers" on jan 28/2012 , it took 9 weeks to get it , and yes photocopy it, and put the production license in plastic put it on your growroom door then take a pic of it just incase ,,, the waiting time to get the license sucks but u will get it !
