How long in Veg

How long is recommended to leave your plant in vegetative stage. Mine has been for almost two months and is a little over two feet. Should I wait to start the flowering stage, or am I able to switch the lights to 12-12 now? THanks!

you can do it now if you want just keep in mind during the beginning of flowering they will double maybe triple in size

atallcost is correct - if they are 24" high now - they will probably get to be at least 50" high by the time they are done - and if they are sativa or sativa-dominant - then they may get to be over 72".

of course that depends on how much light, etc...

as soon as you install some HPS lighting - switch to 12/12.

Fluorescent tubes will not work?

i think most growers agree that HPS (High Pressure Sodium) HID (high intensity discharge) lighting is best for flowering. However, many growers flower using CFLs (compact florescent lighting) but "they" say the buds are less dense.

as for regular florescent tubes - i don't know - you may want to check out the CFL/lighting FAQs.

How much do the HPS bulbs cost. I am a poor college student with a horrible addiction lol which is why I'm trying my hand at growing. How much do you think leaving the florescent tubes would affect my yield?

yo,,,, poor college student,,, your golden with the tubes,,, but just remember that your plant is going to be huge,,, HUGE,, so, you may need more tubes...

see if you know anybody with those 4ft. garage work lights,, they are cheap and work good for poor people,, I mean college people,,, and very easy on electricity too,,, also cfls are really cheap and work excellent in your prediciment,,, grow on bro............
