I'd like to know how long you guys generaly veg for and why. I want to understand the direct impact on my harvest vegging time has.
Anyone understand what im asking for?

If you go with less veg you can get more plants, with smaller yield per plant.

If you veg longer you get more yield per plant with less plants.

Over all it's probably depends most on how good of a grower you are.

And I'm planning on longer veg for now. I'm getting ready to start my second grow.

i must add :
i grow in soil, under 400watt Hps, and they are bagseed. Id like to get at least say 4 once per plant. anytips? Theyve been vegging for a month as of july 19th. and are about a foot and a half tall (all three)

I don't think there is a cut and dried answer to what you're asking. The final yeild depends on every little detail - your medium, plant strain, lights, nutes, water, environment, any little problems that crop up along the way... You could have two guys growing the same strain, same pretty much everything - and what happens along the way will give you two different yields.
The best answer I have seen if you really want one, is approx. 1g per watt of light.

exactly what you said.

if its personal try veging from when the 1st true leafs show for like 2-3 weeks and then go with 12/12 (also for limited space or just young kids growing in their parents homes and shit) but you should get about a little over an ounce. search up mygirls and look at his crystal 12/12 from seeds they are over 16 inches and got a little over an ounce on them already and its like 40 day old. so another 50 and hes good to go . so you can do that

any experts with complete answers?

I'm not an expert, but I can give a complete answer lol

you're limited by your 400w lights penetration which is about 18 - 24" (effective lumen's).

So if you flower at 12" and your plants stretch to 28" - 36" (typical), your plants tops and branch buds will still receive plenty of light.

Also, to maximize your light penetration, try topping the plant once or twice. As the new grow shoots are developing, start tying them down sideways in different directions. I got amazing results by doing this outdoors. You can get nice thick branches and buds to all areas equally, and maximizing your light penetration surface area.

thank you everyone for answering me. i have topped all three of my plants already and im planning on doing so once more. i have tied them down aswell. Im thinking of letting them veg for another week or so ( so that my clones take roots,) then ill throw the clones and the plants in 12/12 and see the difference in yield.

i have a 1000Watt light also wich i cant use because of ventilation issues. Im in an appartement and cant just go about cutting vent hole everywhere. i keep my plants cooled by putting a very big fan in the door sil with the closet door opened. I would love to use the 1000watter instead of the 400watter but the closet is 5deep X8 tallX3.5wide so it would get very hot in there. Im considering a A/c unit for my next grow that will allow me to run the 1000watter instead!
