so i just made a cab-like box, its a cardboard box really. the problem is i cant have any light leaving the box, therefor its closed completely and no holes for air, is this ok? also if i do need airflow, can i just use and air pump to pump air in there?

Plants are living things, they NEED air. You could put one inlet fan in connected to a black hose, so no light peeks out, and an exhaust hose, so no light gets out. The inlet should be at the bottom, and the the exhaust should be as far from it as possible on the top.

a cheeper option is to put one inlet fan blowing to the plants, and a smaller hole without a fan, as long as iits not air tight the air will find its way out

its not air tight, and the plants have room. i honestly dont think id run out of oxygen if i was in there. as for the fan, can i just get a small pocketsized fan for personal use and possition like three of them on one side?

e... I... e... I...

Airflow.

-which in your case is a function of how much heat your light source is producing...

A couple common variety 23 watt cfl's are gonna need something. How about a 120mm computer fan? You can tape that on, though light proofing it will be the tricky part. LOL, how about a paper clip hinged, sealed manila folder box? :)

this is like shop class!
