i was wondering if it mattered how hott the tops of your plants got if you put your hand under the light and it doesnt burn your hand if thats a safe place for your light to be i know a safe range is between 70 and 80 degrees is that for the top of the plant or just half way

ive read that optimal temp is between 70-85. my temps have been getting into the 90's the past few days due to a heat wave and it hasnt affected my plants yet. but you should try to keep them in the low 80's high 70's.

mutha fucka!! my temps have gone crazy due to the latest heat wave here.... and im on the central coast cali... never gets above 90 and my grow room is getting a scarry 95... im trippin... about to break into savings for a new exhaust... but it really isnt an option... more like a do it or be screwed thing..... i really dont wanna screw my bank account, is there any way i could put a bucket of ice in there to cool it down temporarily until i can afford something?

All sorts of cheap fans out there. I don't think melting ice will do much for you.

 dude try have ya lights on at night wen its cooler, you have any pics of your grow?those temps are pretty high,id be worrying maybe about fire issues lol

You plant will be fine as long as you can hold your hand between the light and plant comfortably. If it's too hot then move it for sure. I'm always having to adjust my cfl's cause my plant grows like an inch a day!
