How high from my plants do i have a 315w LEC?

I just installed one 3 weeks ago in my flower room and have been tweaking the height. I have ended up at about 16"-18" above the buds.

If you are starting seeds and young plants I would probably start above 2 feet. But I don't honestly have veg experience with it yet.

Good luck. I really like working with the LEC.

Thanks mate. im up at around 850mm trying to deal with heat issues.
currently sitting on 27.8 degrees....

currently in vege mode.

I had to change lights to the LEC sunstorm from a 130W high powrred Fluro on 3 plants..
You think i could of vegged for longer or was it the better move to go onto the 130W during summer?

Ive got heat problems now with this new LEC.
800mm front to back, 2 meter high, 2 meter wide tent.
Ive had to raise the light very high and not sure how it will go on hot days as right now its 30degrees with a fan in there.

You need a 6" inline fan with a speed controller and exhaust the heat out of the tent and preferably out of the room it is in. The vents are passive intakes but will require lightproofing if flowering photoperiod plants.

Which is a whole new subject.

Exactly.

Thanks guys.
I was thinking of getting a cooltube for the 315w LEC? pros and cons?

Ive wanted to keep my fan on low with the speed controller but right now im having to jack it up to medium setting or almost high..

EDIT: Tent is 2 meters high by 1.5meter wide.

Is the fan moving air around in the tent? Or moving air out of the tent?

CMH doesn't really get that hot, I can't see how you're having such issues...

What's the temp of the room that the tent sits in? How much space does the tent have? Is it in a closet with the door closed or something?

its located outside on a covered balcony...
Its a grow tent.
I have 2 ducts ducts for air in ( no inlet fan )
and 1 carbon filter scrubber and outlet fan.
its middle of summer right now in australia.
I was using a 130w strong fluro.
temp went up by 3 degrees when i changed to to the LEC.
I have a fan in here connected to the same speed controller as the outlet fan ( i know but im limited for connections )

I was quoted $90aud for a second hand cool tube for my LEC. I dont see how i can install a cooltube when my Sunstorm light doesnt have entry points to the sides of it?

then theres opening the top side of the tent but there could be light issues ( when flowering ) and the smell of super skunk leaking out?

I don't see a circulation fan blowing in between the lamp and the canopy. I use 6" hurricane clip fans in tents. I would use 2 making sort of a vortex for the exhaust to pull out the top.

This would lower temp at the canopy without anything else. Have to play with it til it works. Every room is different.

Light is 18". It's a 600 HPS. And yes. The vents are passive. I will find a pic to show how I made lightproof intakes. I only have tents for veg in a spare room now. So I just use the screened vents.

The intake air comes in low and gets sucked into a carbon filter above the lamp. Then it is ducted through the reflector and out the tent. Handles all cooling and filtering with one 6" fan.

I will search for more helpful pics. My HID lights are in a converted room now. Be back bud.

Do you have an intake fan?

I wont be able to rig up my light as it doesnt have the holes on each side but i was wondering.
Will it be a problem with the smell of super skunk if i open one of the vents at the top side of the tent? Or will the scrubber catch all the smell before it goes outside?
