Most thai strains are sweet and fairly low in potency. In fact, you may want to stay away from indica and head to the sativas if you think the current fare of "skunk" is strong. The Dutch have crossed damn near everything with "skunk"... though none of it seems to be the true "roadkill" skunk like we used to get in the US in the 80's. (and can't seem to find now. Anyone have a line on it?)
A lot of Dutch Passion's seed line grow well but aren't the highest in potency. I'm sure you can find these in the UK.
It really shouldn't be too hard of a search being that seeds are legal to purchase in the UK

In America, I think we call what your looking for BCsters (beasters, bc bud). Its about mid-high grade, huge buds, but not much THC. More than not, bcsters is somewhat wet, like it wasn't cured very long. Unfortunately, its pretty much all I can find right now where im at, and its why im growing my own.

I'm currently on a super skunk grow btdt, i wanted something a bit more old school smoke wise, i'm a bit fed up of fancy flavours if you get me.
I think the orange bud will suit him well for a first time out and the price is pretty low.
Nirvana have just started selling a strain called travelling thai. but it says the thc is up at 22% or something silly like that.
