How Do You Cool Down Your Closets?

well that intake isnt much good....especially if it isnt pulling in fresh air.

pulling air from an closed off space is never good. the air is very stagnant. get some fresh air flowing thru there.

your lights dont need such fresh air...as its just cooling off from the air being blown on/sucked off
the garge doors are not very well sealed and neither is the door to the basement . I dont think the air is stagnat . It is drafty down there .

This is what I use for my Exhaust fan, I bought it at Lowes for like $35 and then bought a heat fiting that is ment to come up through your floor. This fan moves a lot of air for the money. one might be enough, I would put it on your inlet side myself, but some people think the outlet side is better if you have only one. But remember, if you only use one of these fans, you still need another opening for air movement.

okay well fresh air is not a problem for you

okay bet...here you go

you said you're going vortex right? get 3 fans

-vortex 4" for the intake
-vortex 4" for the light.... but if you are going to place another light in there, you might as well get the vortex 6" so you'll already have it.
-vortex 6" or 8" for exhaust

hey lord dangly do you think the 449 cfm vortex would be good enough to vent the whole room , pulling air from with in the closet blowing through the light out the exhaust hole .and use the fart fan as an intake fan ?

hahaha.. I understand, but I think he ment the votrex for his light only. that is all he needs, then two fans like i showed.

HE SAID he wanted the vortex brand, not me...

not forcing any brand on members...lol.
yeah I was thinking that brand or at least style of fan for the light and I thought maybe 1 6" fan would do the job plus some and maybe handle another light in the future .

I was thinking upgradeability, If he goes with the smaller CFM votex to save money this grow it might nt be enough on his next. I myself made this mistake. I bought the 290 CFM votex, and my next grow I had to go buy the 440 cfm Votex fan. Now I buy at least one stage more then needed

You do not put everything inside of the closet.. Or is this a stealth closet grow?
stealth grow ...... well lets see . the intake hole in the floor comes through a storage bin in a finished basement it just so happen's to by my bin . I cant do any more than cutting a hole in the floor . now as for the closet its not stealth in my appartment. but I just dont want the lightof god coming from the cracks so I put up a poly door with a zipper. I did cut a four inch hole in the wall which vent out under the stairs {another area 4x5x5} . I can cut another hole next to it for more exhaust air or make it a six inch hole if needed.

oh and yes I guess it is stealth being I have no room out side the closet to put any thing.but I could cut another intake hole into the bottom side of the closet which would be in my kitchen . I'm also going to take the ballast\transformer mounted on a heat sink out and put it in a metel box in the kitchen corner under a desk to get rid of that heat .

tell me if you think this will work. 1 6" vortex fan mounted at the top sucking through 4" ducting comining from a fresh air intake , the fan blowing through 6" ducting to the light through a 6-4 adapter out a 4" exhaust hole at the top of the closet. and the 6" inine fart fan blowing through another 4" hole in the wall next to the other exhaust hole. and one passive 4" intake.
