How do u know to top

How does one know that a strain will respond well to topping? my first grow i didnt top and im not sure for my next grow if this strain will respond well to topping .

topping will make any strain bushier.

Topping controls height

If you don't have height restrictions I recommend against it, because one large cola tends to weigh more than 2 little ones.

This one was lollipopped and only grew to 40 inches under a 400w (ceramic metal halide 4k)

good point green, i have 3 topped and 1 untopped, out of those the biggest yeild looks like my single kola. i tried experimenting with it so i topped 2 for double kola's, 1 for triple kola, and 1 single kola. bushiest is def the triple but that dang single is tall and fat! one of my doubles may be comparable though, its close.

some strains respond better to topping, as do different phenos of diff strains, you just have to get a mom, take a clone try it and see how she likes it

So its just a trial and error thing on weither or not to do it.

sometimes, yes, other times you can come to a site like this and maybe find some info on whether its good or not to top strains
