How do I decipher what Kind of Nugs i have

OK so heres a question for all you ganja buffs. HOW Do I tell what kind of ganja i have. Clearly i have to cross reference but im staring at some ganja nugs right now and it sorta looks like Northern lights a bit. IT has a a sweet piney smell and its mostly light green with many orange hairs running acorss the nug. Any ideas?

What can i look at to tell whaat it is?

yeah unless you grew this bud or someone you know did its gonna be pretty damn hard to tell what it is there are so many strains out there make up a name and smoke that shit!!
