this year was my best financial year ever, although i don't have much to show for it. shows how much i make! greenhouse went better than expected thanks to a dream summer. didn't have many financial setbacks, just a few car repairs and a new computer broken by my pup. oh well.

the bad news is that the move i was dreading last year will be happening this upcoming year, so the greenhouse is up in the air.

  • Got laid off from my tech job after 5 years. Thought I had a recovery job, got a interview 2 weeks after getting laid off and fail my piss test. (Decided to use the cheap drink from the head shop instead of ordering strap on piss). Ran into money trouble, lost my unemployment case, waiting for the appeal court case. Started to ruin my great credit, defaulting on credit cards, then tv. Wife left with kid back to mothers, im in this house with well fargo knocking on the door saying do you want to keep the house you living in after 4 years, HELL YEAH!!!! SHIT!!@! Been paying them in 3 month intervals :-). Now Im forced back to my old ways of making it, Im here in this big house with my 5 dogs, and endless variety of cannabis.

For 2013, Im going back to school for my 4 year in computer networking degree, found a program that you get 18 certs along the way. Start applying to tech jobs again, get something going. Get my family back in the house. Grow even more variety this year, I was stuck growing all of my own crosses for the longest time, then I popped, then smoked some hazeman elephant stomper I had, WOW time to order seeds again and grow all these ones I have out. Cross some more with all my breeder strains.

All the free time I had its been fun though.

12 was sweet and sour. Saw and visited with a lot of family, traveled, remodeled, gardened, harvested fish, game, berries, veggies, herbs and herb. 2nd round of cancer treatments knocked me off center most of the year but I found center again and hit stride. Financially it was good again. Didn't knock it out of the park but finished 9 innings.

2012 was busy and interesting. In addition to having my boy on the weekends, I'm now taking care of my mom, too. She's got Alzheimer's and can't live by herself anymore, so my sister has her during the week. Not as much free time as I had last year, but what are you going to do? It's mom. I lost my day job working from home, and now my life is mainly playing music and my little grow op. The op biz is going so great that it's hard to believe, it's paying for 90% of everything and I'm making more money than I did when I had the day job! Go figure. Looking forward to buying a couple of properties this year while the prices are so fucking low, I'd like to buy 10-15 over the next few years and retire...

This was my/our worst year financially ever. My wife had lost her job in 2010, and was still unemployed in early January when I lost my job. Thankfully she found a job, but it is for $35,000 less than she made when she got laid off. I was unable to find another position that paid a salary instead of straight commission, so I had to go back to painting houses to avoid losing everything we own.

I tried to open a dispensary, and spent months getting a license, and all the details, just to be blackmailed by the arab owner of the building, trying to get more rent money. We sued, and won an amazing $28K, between the two of us. I wanted $2.5 million.

She continues to be underemployed, as do I, and we make $60,000 less than we made in 2010 and the years prior.

But we still have our family, and minus the torn disc in my back, we have our health, so its ok.

Sadly, it would be nice to say it can only get better, but the truth is it can still get much worse.

2013 is looking like it'll be a good year. 2012 was tough, but it was much better than 2011! It was a rebuilding year and things have started coming around. Focused on reestablishing myself in the financial services industry again (took time off when market crashed) and didnt do too bad, not my best year of doing this kind of work, but it was about an average one, but all my licensing is taken care of, bills are paid up current, have money in the bank from week to week, family is good n healthy and am married to a woman that I love and loves me, gotta say life is good.

I took time off growing to focus on getting myself back on track financially, not to mention house we moved into is too small and no way do I trust the electrical! we are planning to move in the next few months and gonna get back to growing, I'm looking forward to getting back to this relaxing n enjoyable hobby.
