how deep for indoor bed

I want to do a bed of soil 4' by 3' with 6 plants how deep should the soil be?

12" might be sufficient but 18" would be even better. Make sure it drains well so you don't have standing water in the bottom.

if you are going to do it that way, make sure there is a drain to a seperate tray where the water can go and not effect the plants and you can suck it out.

.... exactly, that standing water will ruin everthing! If u put an inch or two of perlite or pebbles in the bottom it will help.

just go with some standard containers and take away the guess work

This is the best idea; just go with some big square containers and it will be much easier.
