How damaging is it to put a plant in flowering and then back to veg?

It's been roughly 50-60 days since germination and I'm still not sure about the sex. I've looked at videos about how to identify them while they're in pre-flower but I'm just not 100% sure. One could suggest I continue to wait, but I'm really itching to get them off my property since I'm doing a "gorilla grow". One method I came across was to clone the plants and then put them under 12/12 to figure it out. I have 2 clones trying to root in tap water right now (we have good clean water in my town) but I don't have much confidence in them. On a side note, how long does it usually take for clones to root if you're rooting in straight-up water? I'm really tempted to put both of my plants into 12/12 just to get a definitive answer, but I don't want to fuck them up in the long run.

2 weeks in water. At least. Change water every few days. Revegging is what it's called when you take a flowering plant back to veg state. If you're having to ask you should probably forego it if you want bud.

Buy seeds. There's sources in the US. Avoid clones or plants from anyone including your mom.

Rooting in water is not a given. However I suggest taking the cutting as usual, dipping in Clonex and then In Great White or Mykos . Then directly into good potting soil or medium. Don't overwater.

Flower your others and use the clones to get more clones from.

There's any number of ways. Next tell us the strain. I'm assuming regular seeds.

You say guerilla grow. In containers you can bring in?

I'm restricting my budget on my first grow just to get the feel of things. I'm not entirely expecting these plants to yield much success, if any. The next round of plants I plan on going all-in. I do have containers to bring them in, but I'm slightly torn between simply planting them in the ground and using a 5-gallon pot so I can move it when need be. I understand the dangers of planting in the ground, but I also want to avoid the possibility of someone thinking the plant isn't "natural" and then alerting the authorities or something else, but I suppose that's the name of the game. Just to be clear, because I'm very tempted, I should NOT put my plants under 12/12 for a week to see their sexes? What are some dangers?

I'm not going to lie to your doc, it's not good!

With that said you can reduce the amount of daylight hours you're giving them in veg, let's say from 18 down to 14 hrs. will start them showing preflowers

if you're very observant you catch it as soon as it starts showing and then you go back to 18hours light or put them outside at that point, either or

..that's not exactly putting them into flower 100 percent, well not exactly?..it's not great but you can run like that, I have with no negative effects they stayed in veg, I feel it just helped them present preflowers more easily. I don't do that anymore though for other reasons I'm just saying you can do that

you run say 14-15 hrs. (cuz it varies by strain) they'll start to show sex in veg within a couple weeks is what I'm trying to say
