How can you know if your Seeds are still good?

Hello

im kinda new to this so yeah

i have had some seeds that i never used and i was just wondering if you can tell if theyre still good and if so how?

I don't think so at least not just by looking at them. But seeds are supposed to be viable for like a year or something like that.

Try to germinate them and find out. Seeds can last way longer than a year in some cases. Visual inspection can tell very little unless there is obvious damage to them. Good luck.

I've grown seeds that were 5, 6 years old and gotten excellent germ rates. Only way to find out whether yours are still good is to plant 'em.

From time to time this forum features a grow journal on old seeds. The most recent being a plant from 30 year old seed. It turned out to be male.
