Well... How many Plants you plan on growing... I dont think they will notice a diffrence or anything unusual unless your growing Many Many Many Plants

i was thinking 15 to 20 plants under a 1000 watt digital ballast

i got 2 1500 watt heaters running and havent noticed too much of a difference on my electric bill

it is very, very doubtful a 1000w light is going to get you investigated. if you are really worried, make sure you have a back-up story if they were to ask - like you just got a tanning bed or you have some new appliances in a spare room/basement or something.

for what it's worth - i use a 1000w of light and haven't heard a peep.
