How big of a Hempy bucket for 1lb plant?

Hi guys

I have been growing in Hempys for a few years now. Mostly in my 3gal home Made buckets. 6-9oz is pretty average depending what I’m growing.

I have been wanting to do a one plant grow for 1lb in my 3x3?
Just a personal goal of mine.

I think it can be done in 2x 5gal buckets stacked. Using the gap inside the two buckets as the Rez.

Think I’m out to lunch?

How big do you think I need?

Yield will depend on lighting, veg time, genetics. You can grow a one pound plant in a 3 gallon hempy if you veg long enough and you do daily feedings. What light do you have? With a 3x3 it should be around 500 actual watts out of the wall. Good luck.

I have a custom light I have made.
Timer Grow lights 4x Vero7 100watt cobs with a 100watt COB from marshydo (CXB3590 and some red and blue led chips)
I have a auto water system that waters in 12h intervals at the moment.

I was thinking 12-14 week veg?

Any strain recommends?
I was thinking Sour Diesel maybe.

Nice set up. I usually yield about 8oz. per plant with a 5 week veg - I have never vegged 12-14 weeks so I can't comment on that. I'm sure you know you will have to train the plant to keep it wide. No recommendations on strains - sorry. There are thousands to choose from. Good luck with your venture.
