House plant style Cannabis flowering early??

Hey guys,

I am pretty new to cannabis cultivation game. My girlfriend and I planted a bagseed and have used a blend of natural sun in a south facing window and supplemental cfl light when its dark. As expected the plant is tall and spindly, but i was hoping i could just Veg it for several months and keep it as a house plant.

At roughly 4 weeks old from germination, it revealed itself to be female which was great! But then tons more white pistils started showing up.... I have had it on an 18/6 light cycle from the start. Is it flowering early or just showing a lot of preflowers?

I'm with macsnax on auto flowering. If you look at your first pic that looks like first week in flower bud organization. Your plant looks lovely, good job.

Even when you buy known genetics shit happens. These plants have been pollen chucked and cross bred to the point I'm sure there are unknown ruderalis genetics in the lineage of many.
Yeah thats very true. I appreciate you guys taking the time to evaluate my plant and for sharing your thoughts. The plant has already surpassed my expectations, and im stoked to not have to worry about her. I will just let time do its thing

Yup, I've seen auto beans not auto, and reg beans auto, lol. Best bet is to do some homework on a breeders and pick one that you have faith in. I don't think it's a common problem with US breeders, it seems to happen more with beans from across the pond.

Yeah i plan on buying more reputable seeds this spring! I've had trouble finding a seed bank that ships to u.s.as well as accepts debit cards... Do you have any suggestions?

I've ran many of the reputable major producers lines and have found ruderalis in quite a few that would surprise you. Essentially when growing this stuff you don't know who is growing what near you and if you're running a seed crop and you aren't running a multiple filtered intake room (and who does that). It can happen to the best of growers, rare but it happens. Just shrug and enjoy the smoke LOL

Bodhi, cannaventure are pretty popular but no one is perfect. I had an entire table of Bodhi's Sunshine Daydream herm on me (not via Rodelization ). I still happily grow Bodhi which is what last years seed table runs were. I stocked up on Jabba's Stash F2, Snow Temple F2 and Dragon Fruit F2 which I had planned to begin pheno hunting through this year.

Unfortunately I realized I had 2 more seed tables to run before I could begin LOL so more freshening and breeding. This rapidly becomes a full time job.

The two she mentioned are great choices, oni, useful, red eyed, top dawg, are some more. Check out the breeder reviews section. If the majority of people have good things to say, there's a good chance it's a decent breeder.

I read recently that something like 30% of pollen in the air in CA is from cannabis. That seems insane to me, how do people grow or breed without serious issues? Could of been a bogus claim too.

dont think they should be pre flowering that early unless 1. they didn't get enough direct light 2. they are auto's.

as macs said i've heard people saying they bought photo's but ended up getting an auto. i experienced something like your situation that pretty much scarred the hell out of me into attempting a full outdoor grow again. my plant flowered 6" high. i don't know what the strain is so it could of been an auto but i am also having to take into consideration the lack of sunlight. i think it was an auto though because in the same enivornment my dad can grow much taller plants then 6'' sadly they are super leggy rather then anything.

What time of the year did you put your plant out? If the daylight cycles aren't quite long enough you can trigger flower. I've seen that in CA where people end up with plants revegging unless they put them out way to early and they finished LOL. Absolutely could have been an auto, just another possibility.

I'd enjoy reading that. It's pretty hard to believe. Although if @doublejj started a seed run that would be possible :P

I can't remember the source, I have a news feed on my phone that suggests articles of interest for me. Yes my phone knows I'm a stoner lol.

i put them out in dead of winter but i live in Hawaii so it is possible to grow year round thus why im thinking it's simply the lack of direct light. we do have a lot of tree's blocking potential light where we keep our plants and idk how he gets his plant to get longer then 6" without really flowering but like i said his is mainly leggy about a foot of it just the stalk. that grow was messed up to begin with though so im not super concerned and i will eventually be growing outdoors to test out the sunlight and what i can grow in 1 spot. tried to flower my plants out their a few days ago checked on the sunlight but yea they are getting only about 3-4 hours of direct light per day. i literally have a plant from my current grow out their for the past 2 weeks now i am surprised it hasn't flowered yet but it looks like it's going through the stretching phase where as i flowered my other 2 plants indoors and they are well on their way to flowering and twice the size already of the plant outside.

Precisely you'll figure it out with some testing and then you'll know if you got an auto LOL. Sometimes we can only figure something out, retrospectively based on accumulation of data, science it does a body good :eyesmoke:

If you run across it again and remember my question, (we all smoke a lot of pot LOL), please PM me the source. I'd love to read that living in CA and all, thanks.

yea i mean i plan to do a full outdoor grow of just photo's eventually probably in my next run tbh. i will be popping 4 seeds though. 2 extra Strawberry coughs i have left and keep 2 new seeds indoors to test out under a more controlled light setting. going to see how my current situation turns out but if anything i will be subjecting my 3rd grow i started a day ago outdoors. i don't want to since it's a new strain i am growing but that is a last resort. results should be very interesting though plus as it gets closer to summer maybe i can get more sunlight in the area but i highly doubt it the amount of tree's blocking the sunlight is just too insane. wish i could cut them down but they are not my plants.
