House Dems introduce a bill to eliminate ICE

So, as the house Trumptard or whatever Alinsky-esque name the local useful idiots call me, I'm curious how this plays with the largely Democrat/Progressive crowd here.

To me, it seems like the Democrats are doing their level best to alienate every single moderate or undecided voter in America. This bill could be called the "Ensure Trump Victory in 2020 Act".

Once the obligatory comments on my dick size, sexual proclivities, and intelligence are out of the way I'd really like to know what you think this bill will do for America, the Democrat party, and the "Blue Wave" theory.

My simple prediction is that this will go exactly nowhere, and have a polarizing effect on moderate voters, moving them to the right. I see the Dems losing about 6 seats in the House and holding the line on the Senate as things stand right now and I don't think bills like this help at all.

well, you retarded shrimp dick hamster fucker (you're the one that said it was obligatory), i'd say you're probably right. seems like an effort to wash their hands of a situation they're already complicit in

You left out the best part of your story.

The three progressive co-sponsors of the bill — Reps. Mark Pocan (D-WI), Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) and Adriano Espaillat — said they will vote no on the bill, and encourage others to do the same, if Republicans bring it to the floor.

“We know Speaker Ryan is not serious about passing our ‘Establishing a Humane Immigration Enforcement System Act,’ so members of Congress, advocacy groups, and impacted communities will not engage in this political stunt,” the three said in a statement. “If Speaker Ryan puts our bill on the floor, we plan to vote no and will instead use the opportunity to force an urgently needed and long-overdue conversation on the House floor.”

Let me know if you've got any content on this topic, but right now all I see is two rather shallow attempts to derail a conversation that doesn't look too good for the Dems. You've read the whole Alinsky manual!

Reminds me of when BHO picked Biden... I was all like "YES McCain will win for sure now... he fucking picked WHO?" That election was like a game of hot potato, with each side trying their best to not win at all costs.

it does seem that way sometimes. i can't believe Sarah Palin has ever held any elected office, and doubly amazed she was picked to run for vp...........it could have been president mccaine and vp pawlenty, or rommney....or a drunk he found in an alley in dc.....

People want to enforce laws against illegal immigration. I don't think that's unreasonable.

People want immigrants who are here and law abiding to be able to stay. I don't think that's unreasonable.

People want immigrants to be treated fairly. I don't think that's unreasonable.

Immigrants want a logical process by which they can be here legally and pursue their goals, up to and including working here and citizenship. I don't think that's unreasonable...

People want a government that makes the above happen. Apparently THIS is the unreasonable part.

Welcome to America.

What's your prescription?
Hmm, I can think of two options.

When faced with a basically two party system and your candidate just lost narrowly in three critical states despite winning the popular vote overall, one could:

1. Work with the existing party that clearly represents your interests better than the other with a better candidate who should run a better campaign and capitalize on the many, many weaknesses of the winner of the last election.

or

2. Cry about how your preferred candidate was cheated, splinter the party because they don't adequately represent your interests despite the fact that most of the population doesn't, mercilessly criticize your party while promoting a hyper-liberal social democratic platform while unfoundedly claiming that this platform has widespread support nationwide while insulting anybody who disagrees with you; promote fake news and shoddy journalists and losing another national election.

Ummm, I choose number one.

Candidate Party Popular Votes
Barack H. Obama Democratic 69,456,897
John S. McCain Republican 59,934,814

I have my moments.
Yes you do. Unfortunately I have to look past a lot of stupid sounding comments to realize that.

Regarding above:

1. Most people agree that most people are idiots.
2. The electoral college can put the person with the least popular votes in office.

The Founders made a system to make sure whoever the idiots vote for the most, loses.

Brilliant.

Too bad it failed.

LOL, that's hilarious. Criticize Ryan for not taking the bill they themselves will vote against seriously?
