I hust got the hydrofarm aap110 lpm air pump and its hot to the touch and even the 12 outlet splitter is hot to the touch is this normal?

I have the same pump and the 12 outlet manifold is always hot on mine been running it 24/7 since Aug. love the pump good buy dude.

Thats a beast looking pump what do you plan on doing a 12 X 5 gallon bucket DWC?

Its not that loud and no I use it for only 4 buckets .. the more bubbles the better ...

i just bought one of these exact pumps....
I have a question regarding the heat of the pump...
I notice that on the back of the pump is a barbed fitting for tubing that sucks in air when running... If i were to attach some tubing to this and run it to the window ac unit would that help keep the pump and the air it produces cool? or would it be worthless....?
also... this pump really isnt that loud, i was expecting the noise of a jet turbine based on all of the feedback i read over the past few days...
so far i am thrilled with this pump!

I thought about running a hose from the pump...and then I decided not to because it might restrict the air flow and the pump may not move enough air..or as much air...If you were to breath thru a straw you wouldn't like it for very long...so I was thinking it might reduce the air flow...but I don't know for sure...
I run two of these's air pumps a #5 and a #3 and they get warm...all air pumps should get warm when you compress air....I can hold myy hand on the pump it's warm but not hot....

i place my pumps in a place where cool intake air blows over them.
thats one hell of a manifold!! hahaa!!
ps. depending on h20 temps and the salinity of h20, there is a ceiling of how much dissolved oxygen can be in h20.
therefor, in my stoned thoughts im thinking that its the water temp that is more important when it comes to DO in the h20.
so really, we have a very small window of how much DO we can get into the h20.
we probably all over airate our tubs. (im not stopping!!! i love when its turbulent in there)
