Horrible rotten meat smell

Good afternoon everyone!

I have a huge issue that I would love some advice on..

My deep freezer went out that I store my trim and extra meat products. Unfortunately, the freezer went out without me knowing and since the deep freezer is my back up storage place, I didn’t realize it had gone out until I smelled a horrible odor. I opened the freezer to find my meats had spoiled and my trim now Smells just like that horrible rotten meat! Now I have a few pounds of trim that smell horrible! I use it for butters, tinctures and feco.. the trim wasn’t wet from the meat but it just smells really unpleasant. Once decarbed, Is my trim still useable or safe? Never had this happen before and I’m clueless! Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

I would extract the trim, then wash a hydrocarbon solution with dilute acid, then dilute base (bicarbonate if you have not decarbed). That might ditch most of the odor.

Thank you! Do you happen to have a journal on this process? I’m unfamiliar with it all!
