hood or no hood?

Hey guys its me again I have a bunch of these shop lights with clips on them well they have alluminum hoods should I take them off to max my cfls? What do u guys think?
 
AAnother quick question. When plants are in the wild at night they get light from the moon so is there a minamal amount of light they can get while asleep??
 
I ask because I have my budding girls in the closet on 12/12 but I have me baby plants just out in my room with some mylar around them and a light they are doing GREAT by the way tho but I want them on 16/8 but will my t.v. mess with its down time??
 
Light leaks can cause hermies, wouldn't chance it. Moon light is the reflection of the suns light off it's surface therefore while pretty bright to the human eye, probably doesn't have the same spectrum of light as direct sunlight so for the most part, wouldn't be "visible" or used by plants.

But considering it's from your tv I doubt it will have any effect. Personally I don't chance any light leaks.
